When you can sing like Caruso
There’s an old story of the famous tenor Caruso teaching his pupils to sing. One of them took the master to task for smoking, something known to be absolutely terrible for the health and quality of your voice.
Unconcerned by the challenge, the Caruso’s response was reputed to have been (in Italian, we presume!)
When you can sing like Caruso, you can smoke like Caruso!
In other words, when you know the fundamentals, you can bend the rules a little! 🙂
